Job summary

Experis UK is seeking a Senior Systems Design Engineer for a six-month contract near Tewkesbury. You will own system design from concept through qualification, interpreting requirements to deliver robust hardware within a systems engineering framework.

The role requires an engineering degree or equivalent, and experience in defence, aerospace, or related sectors is a plus. Travel and on-site collaboration may be involved.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or equivalent experience in a similar role (DEFSTAN-0035 REQUIRED)
• Proven ability to design hardware within a systems engineering framework - experience in defence, aerospace, or industrial sectors is a plus
• Strong knowledge of electrical, electronic, and computing systems
• Experience developing solutions for demanding conditions (shock, vibration, thermal extremes)
• Solid understanding of EMC principles and mechanical engineering fundamentals

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of system design activities from concept through to qualification
• Interpret technical requirements, create robust hardware designs, and ensure compliance with customer specifications
• Preparing detailed design documentation, supporting prototype builds, engaging with suppliers, and driving improvements across processes and tools
