Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Contract Systems Engineer (Requirements + V&V) for an initial 6-month role in Cheltenham with three days per week on site and the rest remote. Some travel to Cambridge may be required.

The position focuses on safety-critical systems for defence and aerospace, incorporating DO-178/DO-254 compliance and customer-driven requirement translation. You will verify and validate requirements, produce system design artefacts, and support proposal preparation while coordinating

Qualifications

• Awareness of Electronic, Software, or Mechanical Engineering development.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Visio.

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions for civil aerospace industries using a systems engineering approach.
• Perform requirements-based verification and validation manually and via scripts.
• Engage with customers to elicit key stakeholder requirements.
• Translate customer requirements into feasible product requirements.
• Create interface control documents and system design documents.
• Control and manage engineering changes throughout the lifecycle.

Systems Engineer (Requirements + V&V)

Our client, a prominent developer of mission and safety critical equipment in the defence and aerospace industries, is seeking a Contract Systems Engineer to join their team in Cheltenham. The position offers the opportunity to support the development of the next generation of military land and aerospace products. Key Responsibilities:

• Development of solutions for the civil aerospace industries following a systems engineering approach.
• Requirements-based verification and validation of product requirements, using manual and scripted methods.
• Engaging with customers to elicit key stakeholder requirements.
• Translating customer requirements into feasible product requirements.
• Producing interface control documents, system design documents, and other supporting documentation.
• Controlling and managing engineering change throughout the development lifecycle.
• Preparing technical proposals, including estimations and presentations.

Job Requirements:

• Awareness of Electronic, Software, or Mechanical Engineering development.
• Experience in developing safety-critical solutions in accordance with DO-178/DO-254 standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Visio.
• Experience with DOORS and Configuration Management Tools.
