Job summary

Mane Energy in the United Kingdom is seeking a Systems Engineer to support a major defence programme focused on complex, software‑intensive systems and advanced platform integration.

You will contribute across the full systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements and modelling to verification, validation and acceptance, in a high integrity environment with on-site work and a 4-day week.This role requires MBSE and familiarity with DOORS, Cameo, and MATLAB/Simulink to drive successful system

Job description

We're looking for a Systems Engineer to support a major defence engineering programme focused on complex, software, intensive systems and advanced platform integration. On site presence required Mondays and Tuesdays

Contract Details

• Duration: 12 months
• Hours: 37.5 per week
• Working Pattern: 4 day week (Mon-Thurs) with flexible arrangements
• Rate: Competitive per hour (Inside IR35)
• Clearance: BPSS to start; SC required later
• Eligibility: Sole UK nationals only (due to programme requirements)

Role Overview

You'll join a growing engineering function supporting multiple business areas, including platform systems and special projects. These roles are driven by increased demand across complex system integration activities, including work on next generation turreted systems and other mission critical capabilities.
You'll contribute across the full systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements and modelling to verification, validation, and acceptance.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering principles across large scale development programmes

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong background in systems engineering within large, complex programmes
• Experience in Command & Control or similar domains is highly advantageous
• Proficiency in modelling, simulation, and MBSE tools
• Understanding of complex systems with significant software components
• Experience in V&V lifecycle activities
• Familiarity with defence standards and systems engineering best practice
• Ability to integrate, analyse, and problem solve at system level
