Job summary

General Dynamics Mission Systems in the UK is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer – Hardware Systems Engineering to contribute to the hardware-focused design of C4I systems across defence programmes.

You will work across the full engineering lifecycle, supporting requirements elicitation, design analysis, subsystems specifications, and system integration, with a hybrid working pattern and a commitment to delivering robust, standards-compliant hardware solutions.

Qualifications

• Broad competence in systems engineering.
• Experience resolving design challenges.
• Understanding of military hardware environments.
• Knowledge of open and military standards.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting requirements elicitation, development and interface definition.
• Contributing to design analysis and trade studies.
• Specifying sub-systems, components and cabling.
• Applying open and military standards to hardware design.
• Delivering system integration and test activities.
• Collaborating with Safety, Security and ILS teams.
• Producing documentation on schedules and progress."
• Presenting at reviews and engaging with stakeholders.
