Job summary

Matchtech has a contract opportunity for a Systems Engineer (Requirements + V&V) in Cheltenham. This initial 6-month contract offers 3 days per week on site with the remainder remote, and some travel to Cambridge may be required.

The role focuses on developing safety-critical solutions for defence and aerospace, performing requirements-based verification and validation, and delivering documentation and proposals across the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Awareness of Electronic, Software, or Mechanical Engineering development.
• Experience in developing safety-critical solutions in accordance with DO-178/DO-254 standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Visio.
• Experience with DOORS and Configuration Management Tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions for civil aerospace industries following a systems engineering approach.
• Requirements-based verification and validation of product requirements, using manual and scripted methods.
• Engage with customers to elicit key stakeholder requirements.
• Translate customer requirements into feasible product requirements.
• Produce interface control documents, system design documents, and other supporting documentation.
• Control and manage engineering change throughout the development lifecycle.
• Prepare technical proposals, including estimations and presentations.

Our client, a prominent developer of mission and safety critical equipment in the defence and aerospace industries, is seeking a Contract Systems Engineer to join their team in Cheltenham. The position offers the opportunity to support the development of the next generation of military land and aerospace products. Key Responsibilities:

• Development of solutions for the civil aerospace industries following a systems engineering approach.
• Requirements-based verification and validation of product requirements, using manual and scripted methods.
• Engaging with customers to elicit key stakeholder requirements.
• Translating customer requirements into feasible product requirements.
• Producing interface control documents, system design documents, and other supporting documentation.
• Controlling and managing engineering change throughout the development lifecycle.
• Preparing technical proposals, including estimations and presentations.

Job Requirements:
