Job summary

World Class Defence Organisation is recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer on a 6-month contract. The role is based in Stevenage or Bristol, with hybrid/remote working (4 days onsite, 1 day remote).

The engineer will design and prove components and assemblies using Creo, liaise with manufacturing to resolve issues, and contribute to testing and validation. The position targets candidates with a Defence/Aerospace background and strong Creo skills, capable of working in a multifunctional team and

Qualifications

• Experience using Creo 3D design tool.
• Background in Defence or Aerospace.
• Familiarity with MBD/DFM practices and tolerance analysis.
• Experience with environmental testing and validation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Mechanical Design and proving activities as part of a wider team for prime and variant products, of both piece parts and assemblies.
• Support/liaise with manufacturing, resolving manufacturing problems & defects.
• Support to functional & environmental testing and trials.
• Liaise with suppliers/purchasing to resolve any technical queries that may arise.
• Planning and reporting on own day-to-day activities to meet project milestones.
• Gain clarification of and help to generate requirements, including challenging of extraneous requirements to reduce lead time, UPC and design complexity

World Class Defence Organisation is currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer subcontractors on an initial 6 month contract.

This role would suit a Mechanical Design Engineer who comes from a strong Defence or Aerospace background has strong Creo / PRO-E skills.

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Rate: £50.00 per hour

Location: Stevenage or Bristol (depending on your preference)

Hybrid / Remote working: 4 days a week likely onsite (likely could be lower on a week by week basis; depending on work). 1 day remote. (flexible on start and finish time).

Contract: 37 Hours per week

Overtime: Hours worked over 37 hours per week will be calculated at ‘time and a quarter’

Duration: 6 Months (initially and then ongoing and long-term thereafter)

IR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)
