Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Associate / Associate Environmental Consultant to lead and coordinate environmental appraisals and EIA across major UK infrastructure projects. You will manage project teams, coordinate with clients, regulators and engineers, and ensure high-quality environmental deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.

The role offers hybrid working, opportunities for professional development, and exposure to diverse sectors, with a focus on sustainability and climate

Qualifications

• Chartered status with a relevant organisation.
• Knowledge of EIA and UK legislation; DCO experience beneficial.
• Track record delivering environmental management on large infrastructure projects.
• Willingness to travel away from home base as needed.
• Line management experience advantageous.
• Commercial awareness and budgeting experience.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Strong IT skills and ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate environmental appraisals and EIA for planning applications.
• Scope, deliver, and review environmental, social and sustainability deliverables.
• Manage project teams and liaise with clients, regulators and designers.
• Ensure compliance with environmental management systems and organisational standards.
• Promote place-based, sustainable design and net-zero commitments.
