Homes are small, family‑style environments designed to deliver bespoke, needs‑led care that transforms lives.

What's Needed in This Role
  • Experience working in a children's residential setting.
  • Ability to support and mentor junior staff, ensuring high standards of care.
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and commitment to child welfare.
  • Excellent communication skills and a calm, solution‑focused approach.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – Essential.
Technical Expertise
  • Understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards (2015).
  • Knowledge of Ofsted compliance requirements and safeguarding frameworks.
  • Ability to contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic approaches such as PACE and Positive Behaviour Support.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consistent, nurturing care to children and young people with EBD.
  • Support daily routines, education, and positive activities to promote development.
  • Respond to challenging behaviours using de‑escalation techniques and therapeutic strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports and contribute to handovers.
  • Work collaboratively with families, professionals and multi‑agency teams to ensure safeguarding and positive outcomes.
  • Act as a role model for junior staff, promoting best practice and a child‑centred approach.
