Job description

Join Our Team as a Senior Support Worker

Location:

Wellington, Somerset

Salary:

£13.53 per hour (£26,383.50 pro-rata) plus benefits. Additional £50 per sleep-in shift.

Hours:

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, on a shift rota basis. You will also be on the on-call rota.

Contract:

Full-time, Permanent.

Driving Requirement:

A valid full UK manual driving license is desirable but not essential for this role.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer any skilled worker visas.

About You

We are looking for a Senior Support Worker who is calm, patient, and resilient. You will need to have a consistent approach to assisting the people we support to engage in the interests they love.

Furthermore, as a Senior Support Worker, you will:

  • Be a strong team player with the ability to lead by example, maintaining professionalism, patience, and calmness under pressure, with experience of providing extraordinary support.
  • Supervise daily outputs and assist the Registered and Deputy Managers in managing staff performance, development, and appraisals.
  • Follow social care legislation and regulations to keep your team and home compliant.
  • Demonstrate keeping accurate records, perform audits, and ensure quality outcomes for the people you support.
  • Take personal responsibility for the quality of care and support delivered.
  • Help plan and achieve both short- and long-term goals.
  • Plan and support activities, such as vacations, learning, and social engagements, exploring new opportunities.
  • Ensure the people you support and their families are treated with respect, dignity, equity, and equality.
  • Hold a QCF in Health & Social Care Level 2 Diploma (or equivalent) with willingness to undertake a Level 3 qualification and demonstrate knowledge of regulatory standards.
  • Work in accordance with SeeAbility’s values.

We seek individuals with the right attitude, an open mind, forward-thinking, and a good sense of humor. You will be available to work 37.5 hours a week, including weekends.

Who you will be supporting?

Fiennes House is a 12-bed purpose-built residential home for adults with complex care needs, learning disabilities, or autism, some with challenging behaviors. It features a large sensory room with equipment for stimulating senses through lights, sounds, music, and touch, including a heated waterbed and materials for sensory experiences.

The residents are active, engaging with the community through activities like art classes, trampolining, music, gardening, and community outings.
