Job summary

Nouvita Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Senior Support Worker to lead a team in a residential home for adults with learning disabilities, focusing on high-quality, person-centred care and promoting independence.

You will mentor staff, ensure safeguarding and medication procedures, and build strong relationships with families and health professionals. A Level 3 health and social care qualification is preferred; enhanced DBS and right to work checks are required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting adults with learning disabilities in residential or supported living settings.
  • Experience in a senior or leadership role is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and a caring, patient approach.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and medication administration.
  • Willingness to work towards further qualifications.
  • Right to work checks and enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of Support Workers to deliver outstanding care.
  • Promote person-centred support, ensuring each individual's needs, choices and goals are respected.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, personal care, medication and community access where required.
  • Complete and review care plans, risk assessments and daily records.
  • Support staff through mentoring, supervision and on-the-job guidance.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures and health and safety policies are followed at all times.
  • Liaise with families, healthcare professionals and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for the people we support.
  • Take responsibility for the service in the absence of the Manager, where required.

About The Role

We are looking for a compassionate, reliable and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our dedicated team supporting adults with learning disabilities in a residential home. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support a team of Support Workers to deliver outstanding care.
  • Promote person-centred support, ensuring each individual's needs, choices and goals are respected.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, personal care, medication and community access where required.

About You

  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
  • This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and right to work checks, in line with safer recruitment and CQC requirements.
  • Due to the location of The Leys your own transport is recommended
