Job summary

The Leys is a specialist, person-centred residential care home run by Nouvita Healthcare Ltd. We are seeking a Senior Support Worker to lead a team and deliver high-quality care to adults with learning disabilities, autism, and related needs.

You will drive person-centred plans, mentor staff, manage safeguarding and ensure accurate records. A passion for empowering independence and building trusting relationships with residents and families is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in residential care.
• Commitment to person-centred care and safeguarding.
• Knowledge of medication administration and health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of Support Workers to deliver outstanding care.
• Promote person-centred support, ensuring each individual's needs, choices and goals are respected.
• Assist residents with daily living activities, personal care, medication and community access where required.
• Complete and review care plans, risk assessments and daily records.
• Support staff through mentoring, supervision and on-the-job guidance.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures and health and safety policies are followed at all times.
• Liaise with families, healthcare professionals and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for the people we support.
• Take responsibility for the service in the absence of the Manager, where required.

About The Role

We are looking for a compassionate, reliable and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our dedicated team supporting adults with learning disabilities in a residential home. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care while leading and supporting a team to help individuals live fulfilling, independent lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of Support Workers to deliver outstanding care.
• Promote person-centred support, ensuring each individual's needs, choices and goals are respected.
• Assist residents with daily living activities, personal care, medication and community access where required.
• Complete and review care plans, risk assessments and daily records.
• Support staff through mentoring, supervision and on-the-job guidance.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures and health and safety policies are followed at all times.

About You

• Previous experience supporting adults with learning disabilities in a residential or supported living setting.
• Experience in a senior or leadership role is desirable.
• A caring, patient and positive approach with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lead by example and motivate others.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable; willingness to work towards further qualifications if required.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, medication administration and person-centred care.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
• This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and right to work checks, in line with safer recruitment and CQC requirements.
• Due to the location of The Leys your own transport is recommended
