We'd like you to join us as a Senior Support Worker at our service Bobbins Swindon.
At Bobbins, we provide residential supported living care to children with severe physical or learning disabilities, including autism. Supported by a highly trained staff team, the children are encouraged to strive for independence, however that looks for them as individuals.
What you'll be working:
- Oncall
- Full Time 42 hours per week
- Working every other weekend
- Sleep ins
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting our clients with daily activities
- Effectively lead the shift by ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained at all times
- Supporting their care plans to establish routines
- Ensure that all service users have up-to-date risk assessments and person-centered plans in place, reviewing and updating as required with the service manager
- Ensure the client feels safe and stable within their day-to-day care
- Personal Care*
- Cover all aspects of the support worker role as needed to meet the needs of the service
- Be part of the on-call team
- Attend and complete all mandatory training
- Administer medication (if required)
- Support service users with physical disabilities using trained techniques and aids such as hoists, wheelchairs, and modified bathing equipment
What you'll have:
- Strong organizational, time management, planning, and communication skills
- Flexible, professional, and positive approach to multi-site working
- Level 3 NVQ or QCF Diploma in Health & Social Care or willingness to work towards
- Sound knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
- Proven reliability in attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Self-confidence and ability to manage challenging situations
- Driving license is preferred
- Ability to respond to employee issues fairly and consistently
