Job summary

Orbis Education and Care is seeking a Senior Support Worker to lead and develop the team, providing high-quality, person-centred support for individuals with autism and complex needs. The role offers leadership growth and opportunities to advance within the organisation.

The successful candidate will build on their experience, receive training and support, and contribute to meaningful outcomes for those we support, in a role based in Bronllys, Wales.

Qualifications

  • Recognised Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting individuals with autism, learning disabilities, or complex needs.
  • Passion for helping people achieve goals and live fulfilling lives.
  • Ability to support and motivate others within the team.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop.
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and occasional nights.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead shifts and allocate duties to team members.
  • Oversee medication administration and record-keeping.
  • Escalate safeguarding concerns when needed.
  • Review risk assessments and support plans; provide staff direction.
  • Support individuals with autism in daily living, promoting independence and wellbeing.
  • Assist with personal care, routines, meals, and household activities.
  • Encourage participation in social, recreational, educational, and community activities.
  • Mentor and develop less experienced team members; supervise and guide staff.
  • Contribute to creating and reviewing person-centred care plans.
  • Collaborate with families, professionals, and colleagues to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records and uphold high standards of care.

£14.20 per hour | Full Time | 40.25 Hours per Week | Annual Travel Allowance of £1,500

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting others, leading by example, and wants to gain valuable leadership experience as part of their long-term career journey in health and social care.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Leading shifts

Who We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with Support Workers who are ready to progress as well as existing Senior Support Workers.

You’ll need:

  • Recognised Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification, or equivalent
  • Previous experience supporting individuals with autism, learning disabilities, or complex needs
  • A genuine passion for helping people achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives
  • The confidence to support and motivate others within the team
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A positive attitude and desire to continue learning and developing
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and occasional nights
  • A full UK driving licence
