Are you looking for a rewarding role where no two days are the same? Do you enjoy helping people live independent, fulfilling lives while getting involved in activities such as football, community outings, and social events? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

At Orbis Education and Care, we're looking for caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Support Workers to join our dedicated team in Treorchy, supporting adults with autism and complex needs to live happy, active, and meaningful lives.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you'll be supporting individuals both at home and in the community, helping them achieve their goals, develop independence, and enjoy the activities they love.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll build genuine relationships and make a positive difference every day.

What a Typical Day Could Look Like

Every individual we support is unique, but your role may include:

  • Supporting individuals with their daily routines and personal care.
  • Helping with meal preparation, shopping, and household tasks.
  • Accompanying individuals to community activities and appointments.
  • Supporting hobbies and interests such as playing football, going for walks, visiting local attractions, attending social events, and enjoying leisure activities.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and life skills development.
  • Providing emotional support and promoting wellbeing.
  • Working alongside colleagues, families, and professionals to deliver person-centred support.
  • Completing care records and reports accurately.
Shift Pattern

This is a full-time position working 40.25 hours per week on a rota basis, including a mixture of day and waking night shifts, weekends, and bank holidays.

Shifts are:

  • Day Shift: 8:00am - 8:30pm
  • Night Shift: 8:00pm - 8:30am

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied work pattern and the flexibility of both days and nights.

Due to the needs of the individuals we support and the activities they enjoy accessing within the community, a full UK driving licence is essential for this role.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in hearing from people who are:

  • Compassionate, caring, and genuinely passionate about supporting others.
  • Positive, patient, and resilient.
  • Great communicators who can build trust and meaningful relationships.
  • Reliable and able to work as part of a team.
  • Flexible to work a mixture of day and night shifts.
  • Confident using basic IT systems for record keeping.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
