Job summary

Voyage Care Langport is seeking a dedicated Senior Support Worker to lead our residential service. You will support people with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy and complex needs while assisting the manager with daily operations in Langport, a tranquil Somerset setting.

You will help people gain independence, supervise staff, coordinate training, and ensure safe, person-centred care within a warm, family-oriented environment. DBS checks and references apply.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker.
• Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification.
• Experience supporting individuals with distress, mental health, autism, brain injury or trauma.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day supervision and management of the service.
• Allocate shifts and book training for staff.
• Induct new colleagues and support supervision processes.
• Order medications and assist with financial management for the people supported.

Typical Shifts are: 07:45 - 20:30 working 3 shifts a week including alternate weekends

Senior Support Workers with a passion for enhancing the quality of life of the people we support are at the heart of our management teams. We’re currently searching for a fantastic Senior Support Worker to join us in leading our residential service in Langport. Looking out over the Somerset levels, this beautiful old house has a warm and welcoming feel about it. Family orientated, we enable individuals with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy and complex care needs including visual impairments.

As a Senior Support Worker with us you'll be helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives, whilst assisting the Manager with the day-to-day supervision and management of the service. You could be allocating shifts, booking in training, inducting new colleagues, supporting with supervision’s, ordering medication and ensuring the people we support are supported to manage their finances. You’ll never lose sight of why you choose to do this, as our Seniors are still at the heart of providing day-to-day support.

We’re interested in our Senior Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Seniors should have previous experience as a Senior Support Worker and a Level 3 in Health & Social Care as well as experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviour's of distress, mental health conditions, acquired brain injury, autism and people who have experienced trauma.
