Meridian Business Support is working with an established social care client to recruit a Senior Support Worker based in Heanor, Derbyshire.

Salary: Up to £27,033.24 per annum.

Location: Heanor, Derbyshire.

Job Overview: The role involves working in independent residential children's homes and schools for young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and learning difficulties, providing a supportive, caring, and learning environment.

Purpose of Job: Promote the rights of young people, provide quality care, and help them achieve their potential by fostering a safe and homely environment. Lead by example to ensure high standards of childcare, professionalism, and safeguarding.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing new childcare techniques and approaches.
• Encourage the development of individual interests and attitudes.
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of each young person.
• Establish trusting relationships to promote security.
• Set and enforce boundaries and sanctions appropriately.
• Promote healthy lifestyles and positive social networks.
• Lead group activities and holidays.
• Support young people through the leaving care process.
• Encourage educational and vocational attainment.
• Observe and assess behaviour, supervise daily care practices.
