Senior Support Worker - Derry Services

Full time position | Hourly Rate: £14 Per Hour

At Live Connected, we are dedicated to supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities and/or Mental Health needs to move into their own homes, regardless of how complex their requirements.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will promote and ensure the implementation of the company’s person-centred support vision, maintaining individuals' potential and independence, while ensuring all back-office duties are completed in compliance.

You will work with a degree of autonomy, using your initiative to adhere to company policies and procedures at all times. Respect and cooperation with others are essential to enable service users to live in their own homes or within their local community with dignity and confidence.

Essential Criteria
  • 6 months previous care experience
  • Current registration with NISCC or eligibility for registration upon appointment
  • Full, valid driving licence or ability to travel independently to meet the post requirements
Roles & Responsibilities
Service Requirements
  • Provide high-quality care to service users
  • Participate in on-call duties during weekends and cover in the absence of the Team Leader
  • Assist in the shadowing and 12-week induction of new staff, ensuring documentation is completed and submitted on time
  • Report staff or service user concerns, grievances, and complaints promptly to the Service Manager
  • Ensure adequate supply of protective items (aprons and gloves) for staff
  • Maintain up-to-date and high-standard audits
  • Carry out risk assessments and report promptly
  • Maintain confidentiality as per the Company Handbook
  • Comply with all policies and procedures, including the Connected Health Policies and Procedures Manuals
  • Participate in emergency cover across multiple services as required
  • Engage in training and professional development
  • Perform other duties as reasonably requested by management
  • Implement a Keyworker system to evaluate and improve the quality of care, seeking service user feedback and implementing measures to meet service objectives
  • Support service users in attending health screening appointments
  • Conduct return-to-work interviews for staff returning after absence, regardless of duration
  • Support service users in developing community connections, hobbies, interests, and employment opportunities, promoting a creative and challenging approach to support
