Job summary

AWE plc in Reading, Berkshire, is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Development Manager to lead the newly formed Supply Chain Development team. You will enable the Commercial function to deliver a coherent, enterprise-wide approach to supply chain development and support the replacement warhead programme.

You will design and embed governance, SRM, and ESG-led initiatives, build strong internal and external relationships, and develop a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Proven professional experience in supply chain development.
• Experience in SRM and developing supply chain strategy.
• Experience creating SME strategies aligned with wider plans.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders.
• Experience designing governance frameworks and operating models.
• Experience incorporating ESG, sustainability and social value into procurement.
• Ability to implement enterprise-wide supply chain frameworks.
• Strong communication, presentation, and workshop leadership.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a robust SRM framework aligned to strategic objectives.
• Drive supplier segmentation and performance management across AWE.
• Create and maintain supply chain policies, standards, tools, and templates.
• Improve supplier relationship maturity and governance practices.
• Deliver initiatives to strengthen Client of Choice in key markets.
• Plan and deliver supplier engagement programmes and forums.
• Embed ESG, supplier diversity, SME participation and social value into procurement and supply chain strategies.
• Build relationships across Commercial, Programme and Supply Chain teams.
• Develop a high-performing Supply Chain Development Team.
