Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal P&C Engineer to lead protection design and integration across industrial, transmission/distribution and renewable projects. You will manage complex technical and commercial issues, review designs, and guide junior engineers, while ensuring safe, compliant, and timely delivery.

You will liaise with clients and internal teams, apply IEC61850 knowledge, and leverage tools like ASPEN OneLiner, ETAP, and DIgSILENT to deliver robust protection solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven capability in design and application of power system protection.
• Experience in protection design deliverables, feasibility studies, and cost estimating.
• Calculation of relay settings and preparation of logic files.
• Experience interfacing protection with primary plant equipment and networks.
• Ability to communicate complex technical issues to peers and senior managers.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission protection systems for voltages up to 400 kV.
• Review in-house and external contractor designs.
• Deliver tender design man-hour estimates and design programs.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers on P&C tasks.
• Undertake site visits and non-intrusive surveys as part of design work.
• Manage risks and CDM aspects across projects.
• Coordinate with clients, planners, resource teams and procurement.
