Job summary

Matchtech Group representing a public sector client in the West Midlands is seeking a Sections Manager for Civil & Structural Engineering to lead highway structures, flood management and geotechnical services. You will provide senior leadership across civil and structural engineering, ensuring safe and sustainable management of infrastructure assets.

The role requires significant experience, strong leadership and the ability to manage budgets, contracts and external funding.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in civil and structural engineering within highways/public infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of highway structures, bridges, maintenance and asset management.
• Understanding of flood risk management, watercourses and geotechnical engineering practices.
• Experience managing programmes, budgets, contracts and external funding.
• Knowledge of CDM 2015 and health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for civil and structural engineering services.
• Manage highway structures capital and maintenance programmes including bridges and walls.
• Oversee flood risk, watercourse management and geotechnical works.
• Approve technical works affecting structures under CDM 2015.
• Serve as Engineer/Project Manager/Principal Designer for civil/structural projects.
• Develop asset management and flood risk strategies for highway structures.
• Manage budgets, procurement, contracts and external funding bids.
• Lead and develop engineering teams with emphasis on safety and stakeholder engagement.
