Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join the highways and infrastructure team on a permanent basis in the United Kingdom. The role covers optioneering, design and assessment of highway structures, including bridges and retaining walls, with technical leadership within a small design team.

The successful candidate will lead design teams, deliver tenders and reports, and promote CDM and safety practices across projects.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Professional qualification or progress towards registration.
• Significant bridge engineering and highway structures experience.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes and British Standards.
• Understanding of DMRB, FCD and CDM regulations.
• Strong design, structural analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Project management experience in bridge design or related infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor design teams undertaking structural analysis, optioneering and feasibility studies.
• Design and assess bridges, retaining walls and other highway structures.
• Prepare tenders, detailed designs, contract documents and technical reports.
• Provide technical analysis and leadership across structures projects.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver an integrated service.
• Identify innovative solutions for value to clients and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote safety and CDM best practices.
