Macdonald & Company is assisting in sourcing an experienced engineer to lead the assessment and management of highway structures. The role focuses on high-priority structural reviews and utilises engineering judgement to keep structures safe and serviceable.

You will lead assessments, manage briefs, review reports, and provide guidance to consultants while collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders across the structures portfolio.

Formación

• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status or equivalent experience.
• Experience in highway structures assessment and management.
• Good understanding of relevant highway and structural standards.
• Degree or HND in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage own workload and priorities.
• Practical approach to problem-solving and engineering judgement.

Responsabilidades

• Lead structural assessments and reviews, including high-priority structures.
• Assess structural risks and identify actions and interim measures.
• Prepare and manage briefs for surveys and investigations.
• Review technical reports and provide guidance to consultants.
• Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to manage portfolio risks.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer to take a leading role in the assessment and management of highway structures, working on a varied portfolio and tackling challenging structural issues.

You’ll lead on high-priority structural assessments and reviews, work closely with consultants and technical specialists, and use your experience and engineering judgement to help keep structures safe and serviceable.
