Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Welder for 12-month contracts in Barrow-in-Furness or Govan. The role focuses on structural welding to high-quality standards, reading engineering drawings and WPS, and performing FCAW, MAG/MIG, TIG or SAW.

Applicants should have time-served training, strong welding experience, and relevant certifications. You will work to tight tolerances within a skilled production team while ensuring SHE and quality compliance.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent mandatory.
• Strong experience in structural welding.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and WPS.
• Relevant welding qualifications/certifications.
• Commitment to SHE and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Structural steel welding and fabrication to high-quality standards.
• Working from engineering drawings and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• FCAW, MAG/MIG, TIG and/or Submerged Arc Welding.
• Working with tight tolerances and technical specifications.
• Carrying out fitting, alignment, grinding, cleaning and finishing.
• Inspecting and checking your own work.
• Working safely within a skilled production team.
