Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking experienced Pipe Welders for major defence engineering projects in Barrow-in-Furness or Govan. The role involves welding pipework to exacting standards, reading drawings and WPS, with TIG, MAG or Flux-Cored processes and a focus on quality, safety and finishing.

It is a 12-month contract offering an hourly rate of 38.70. Candidates should have a time-served apprenticeship or equivalent, strong industrial welding experience, and relevant welding certifications.

Qualifications

• Time-served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Strong industrial welding experience.
• Experience working to WPS and high-quality standards.
• Relevant welding qualifications/certifications.

Responsibilities

• Welding pipework and components to high-quality standards.
• Working from drawings and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• TIG, MAG and/or Flux-Cored welding.
• Working with a range of materials and tight tolerances.
• Carrying out preheating, grinding, cleaning and finishing.
• Inspecting and checking your own work.
• Working safely within a skilled production team.
