Job summary

Nuclear Restoration Services in the UK is seeking a Senior Consultant in Structural Mechanical Engineering to lead complex structural mechanics assessments and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across major decommissioning programmes.

You will guide stress analyses, FE modelling (ANSYS/Abaqus) and engineering substantiation, mentoring junior engineers, and delivering high-quality technical documentation within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex structural mechanics assessments, stress analyses, and engineering substantiation activities that underpin critical design and safety decisions.
• Provide expert guidance on structural integrity, failure mechanisms, load paths, and performance under normal, fault, and accident conditions.
• Deliver and review high-quality technical documentation, calculations, finite element analyses, and engineering evaluations while providing technical assurance across programmes.
• Collaborate with clients, regulators, and multidisciplinary teams, mentoring and developing the next generation of engineers.
