Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR seeks a Senior - Associate Structural Engineer in Hertfordshire. This technically focused role emphasizes hands-on design and project delivery within a growing mission-critical team, delivering large hyperscale data centre projects across the UK.

You will collaborate with senior leadership and major contractors, producing detailed calculations and design documentation while advancing in a specialist, technically oriented environment with clear career progression.

Qualifications

• Around 10 years of UK experience in a structural engineering consultancy.
• Chartered, or working towards Chartership, with IStructE or ICE.
• Experience delivering complex building structures projects.
• Exposure to steel, concrete and masonry construction materials.
• Enjoys technical delivery and detailed engineering design.
• Confident liaising with contractors, consultants and project stakeholders.
• Able to work as part of a collaborative project team.
• Willing to attend the Hertfordshire office three days per week.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural designs across major hyperscale data centre projects.
• Work on some of the UK's largest mission-critical developments.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and leading contractors.
• Produce and review structural calculations, reports and design docs.
• Contribute technical expertise throughout from concept to construction.
• Work across various structural forms and challenges.
• Mentor junior engineers where needed while keeping a technical focus.
• Support growth of the data centre division.
