Job summary

Walker & Sloan Ltd is recruiting a Senior Design Manager for a flagship hyperscale data centre project in Acton, West London. You will lead the design management strategy, coordinating cross-disciplinary teams from bid through to delivery on a high-profile data centre development.

The role requires extensive experience in large-scale construction within a main contractor environment, with responsibility for governance, risk, and value engineering to ensure on-time, quality-focused project

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading design delivery on large-scale construction projects in a main contractor environment.
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary design teams from bid stage through project completion.
• Strong understanding of design governance, technical compliance and contractual obligations.
• Leadership to mentor teams and influence stakeholders for commercially successful outcomes.
• Passion for buildability, innovation and value engineering while focusing on quality and programme.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design management strategy for a flagship hyperscale data centre project in Acton.
• Coordinate all design activities, ensuring coordination, compliance and alignment with programme objectives.
• Oversee multidisciplinary design teams, manage technical risk and drive value engineering initiatives.
• Influence procurement and construction activities to integrate design into delivery.
