Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for its Birmingham Building Structures team. You will lead the design and delivery of a variety of building projects, collaborating with Architects, M&E and Civil Engineers, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with clients.

You will work on education, commercial and residential schemes, with exposure to refurbishment and specialist projects.

Qualifications

Strong background in building structures design.
Experience taking projects from concept through to detailed design and construction.
Knowledge of Eurocodes and modern design standards.
Chartered status ideal, or active progression toward chartership.
Ability to coordinate with Architects, M&E and Civil Engineers.

Responsibilities

Lead the structural design and delivery of building projects from concept to construction.
Design structures using steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry.
Produce and review structural calculations, technical reports, drawings and specs.
Manage project programmes, budgets and technical deliverables.
Coordinate with Architects, M&E Engineers, Civil Engineers and other design disciplines.
Act as a primary point of contact for clients, contractors and project teams.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Graduate and junior engineers.
Support delivery in line with design standards, BIM requirements and digital design processes.
Attend design meetings and contribute technical input during construction.
