Job summary

Strata Construction Consulting UK Ltd. is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Birmingham to lead design work and mentor junior engineers. The role involves delivering projects across a range of sectors, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring compliance with UK standards.

You will manage projects end-to-end, produce calculations and drawings, and contribute to client relationships while operating in a flexible, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership (IStructE or ICE).
• Strong experience in structural design with steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
• Proficiency with industry software Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds, Robot, ETABS or similar.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Solid understanding of UK design standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver structural engineering designs across multiple sectors (residential, commercial, industrial, education).
• Manage projects from concept through completion.
• Produce calculations, drawings, specifications and reports.
• Liaise with clients, architects, contractors and stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to high quality standards.
• Contribute to business development and client relationships.
