Job description

FM Conway is currently seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our Consultancy division. We have opportunities for the successful candidate to be based either at our Sevenoaks Head Office or our Central London office, which is a short walk from Victoria station. The role is full-time, permanent, and offers a competitive salary along with a wide range of benefits.

Role Overview

As our Senior Structural Engineer, you will lead prestigious projects and mentor our engineering professionals. You will collaborate with internal and external clients throughout the project lifecycle to ensure technical and quality compliance, providing proactive technical solutions and designs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Producing structural designs involving concrete, steel, timber, and masonry materials.
2. Designing permanent and temporary works in accordance with relevant standards and codes of practice.
3. Conducting structural assessments of various structures, including highways and buildings.
4. Supporting local authorities with asset management strategies, inspections of highway structures, and site surveys.
5. Managing health and safety during design and construction phases.
6. Assisting in tender document preparation, including fee proposals and quality statements.

Required Skills and Experience

We seek a passionate Senior Structural Engineer with highway design experience aligned with DMRD, LCDS, and TSRGD standards, and proficiency in AutoCAD and swept path analysis. Candidates should hold a BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering or equivalent, with experience in highway engineering. Chartered membership of the ICE or the Institution of Structural Engineers is essential.
