Job description

Senior Structural Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer for our client, based remotely in the South and London. The ideal candidate will have defect diagnosis experience and be skilled in conducting a range of Structural Surveys using innovative technology.

The role involves working for a company that operates across the UK, specializing in Structural Inspections supported by a Structural Design team. The engineer will be field-based, providing structural inspections using digital technology on Residential, Commercial, and Historic Buildings.

Responsibilities

1. Communicate with sales staff to plan survey delivery
2. Inspect various types of buildings and structures
3. Prepare digital reports on-site in real-time
4. Draft specifications for remedial works
5. Support Buildings Insurance claims with technical advice
6. Assess subsidence, fire, and storm damage
7. Report progress to the Director
8. Develop innovative ideas
9. Utilize the latest software tools

Minimum Requirements

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Experience in inspection and reporting on structural defects
• Strong knowledge of traditional and non-traditional construction methods
• Structural Design experience
• Working towards chartered status with MIStructE or MICE
• Full UK driving license and own vehicle
• Ability to work independently
