Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer UK Experience Required

Location: London

About the Role:

JMS Engineers has an opening for a Senior Structural Engineer at our Central London office. You will undertake designs on a variety of projects, from small domestic extensions to large, multi-storey apartment and office developments. Working alongside colleagues within the local office and across the Group, you will be encouraged to develop your design experience and skills, with support to obtain accreditation from the Institute of Structural Engineers.

With project costs up to £12m and the use of the latest design software, this role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in impactful, high-value projects. A competitive salary will be offered, commensurate with the importance of this role within our company.

JMS Group is part of the Structural Engineering Alliance Group (SEAG), a collective of esteemed engineering firms united by a shared vision of pioneering progress.

Responsibilities:

• Use the latest design software to create and manage structural designs.
• Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, delegate work to team members, program deliverables, and monitor progress.
• Provide support and guidance to junior staff, fostering their development and progression.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, details, specifications, and reports for a wide range of structures and materials.
• Implement company policies and ensure adherence across your team.
• Monitor and oversee project budgets and staff resources.
• Develop existing customer relationships and promote JMS Engineers' services.
• Assist in achieving targeted revenues from current and new customers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent (Masters preferred).
• Chartered Structural Engineer status (MIStructE, FIStructE, MICE, or FICE) is advantageous.
• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
• Proven track record of cost estimation and project management.
• Experience working with historic buildings is highly desirable.
