Senior Structural Engineer

Our client based in Kent is seeking an experienced, dedicated Senior Structural Engineer to join their team. The role involves working with some of the largest retailers and developers in the UK on projects up to £150m.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a growing business with a diverse workload, primarily in the food & retail, medical, and large commercial building sectors. The ideal candidate will have strong client-facing skills, a minimum of 6-7 years' experience, and preferably be Chartered or have a desire to become Chartered, with the company's support.

Responsibilities

1. Undertake detailed structural engineering design for various projects, including food & retail, medical, and large commercial buildings.
2. Prepare technical presentations and reports following site surveys and at different project stages.
3. Collaborate with Revit technicians to produce CAD/BIM models and documentation, ensuring timely project delivery.
4. Contribute to net-zero carbon construction and engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
5. Conduct site inspections and collaborate with clients, architects, other consultants, and contractors.
6. Represent the client at meetings with stakeholders.
7. Ensure high-quality service delivery, meeting design standards, deadlines, and budgets.
8. Proficient in Tekla Structural Designer or similar FEM analysis and design software.
9. Hold a BEng or BSc in Structural Engineering.
10. Chartership status or in process.
11. Experience working on historical buildings.
12. Knowledge of Eurocodes.
13. Experience across various construction types and building projects, including assessing existing structures.
14. Experience with large projects such as offices, hotels, and housing developments.
15. Possess a full clean driving license.
16. Software proficiency in Tekla.
17. Engagement in ongoing training and development.
