Job summary

Outsource UK is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to contribute to complex aerospace projects, delivering structural analysis for metallic and composite aircraft structures. You will support and mentor junior engineers, ensuring high-quality engineering solutions and compliance with certification requirements.

Eligible for SC clearance and UK eyes only. Hybrid: onsite with full-time hours, 37 per week, based in the UK.

Qualifications

• Degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong background in aircraft structural analysis.
• Experience with metallic and composite structures.
• Finite Element Analysis experience.
• Previous experience within a design or structures engineering environment.
• Ability to operate across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong reporting and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Structural sizing and analysis.
• Finite Element Analysis.
• Fatigue and damage tolerance assessments.
• Producing engineering calculations using both traditional hand calculations and software tools.
• Demonstrating compliance against certification and programme requirements.
• Leading and delivering analysis tasks for yourself and other members of the team.
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers.
• Working with internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers to resolve technical challenges.

Senior Structural Engineer Client: BAE Systems Location: Warton, Prestwick or Brough Contract Length: 12 months Hybrid: onsite – Full time 37 hours per week Rate: £31.60 PAYE or £42.50 Umbrella inside IR35

Overview

This is an opportunity to work on complex aerospace projects, contributing to structural analysis activities across metallic and composite aircraft structures. You will play a key role in delivering high quality engineering solutions while supporting and developing junior engineers within the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Structural sizing and analysis
• Finite Element Analysis
• Fatigue and damage tolerance assessments
