Job summary

Outsource UK is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to work on complex aerospace projects, contributing to structural analysis across metallic and composite aircraft structures. You will support and develop junior engineers within the team and must be eligible for SC clearance.

The role involves sizing, FEA, fatigue/damage tolerance analyses and delivering technical reports for certifications and projects. It is a 12-month contract with hybrid onsite work at multiple UK locations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience working within a Design or Structures Engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft structural analysis, including metallic and/or composite structures.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and traditional structural calculations.
• Experience in structural sizing, fatigue or damage tolerance analysis.
• Ability to supervise, mentor and develop junior engineers.
• Strong communication skills, with experience producing technical reports and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out structural sizing and analysis for aircraft structures.
• Performing structural assessments using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and traditional hand calculations.
• Undertaking fatigue and damage tolerance analysis.
• Defining and delivering engineering analysis tasks for yourself and members of the wider team.
• Demonstrating that structural designs meet relevant certification and project requirements.
• Supporting the development and mentoring of less experienced engineers.
• Working closely with engineering colleagues, suppliers, customers and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Developing efficient and effective engineering processes and working practices.
• Preparing and delivering technical reports and presentations for a range of audiences.
