Job summary

Outsource UK is seeking an experienced structural analyst to work on complex aerospace projects. You will contribute to sizing and analysis of metallic and composite aircraft structures.

You will use Finite Element Analysis and hand calculations, support junior engineers, and prepare technical reports for certification and stakeholder reviews.

Qualifications

• Experience in design or structures engineering for aircraft.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft structural analysis for metallic and composite structures.
• Experience with FEA and traditional hand calculations.
• Ability to supervise and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Carry out structural sizing and analysis for aircraft structures.
• Perform structural assessments using FEA and hand calculations.
• Undertake fatigue and damage tolerance analysis.
• Define and deliver engineering analysis tasks for yourself and the wider team.
• Demonstrate that structural designs meet certification and project requirements.
• Support the development and mentoring of less experienced engineers.
• Work closely with engineering colleagues, suppliers, customers and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Develop efficient and effective engineering processes and working practices.
• Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations for a range of audiences.

Overview

This is an opportunity to work on complex aerospace projects, contributing to structural analysis activities across metallic and composite aircraft structures. You will play a key role in delivering high quality engineering solutions while supporting and developing junior engineers within the team.

Clearance requirement: Eligible for SC clearance and UK eyes only

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out structural sizing and analysis for aircraft structures.
• Performing structural assessments using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and traditional hand calculations.
• Undertaking fatigue and damage tolerance analysis.
• Defining and delivering engineering analysis tasks for yourself and members of the wider team.
• Demonstrating that structural designs meet relevant certification and project requirements.
• Supporting the development and mentoring of less experienced engineers.
• Working closely with engineering colleagues, suppliers, customers and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Developing efficient and effective engineering processes and working practices.
• Preparing and delivering technical reports and presentations for a range of audiences.

Key Skills

• Demonstrable experience working within a Design or Structures Engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft structural analysis, including metallic and/or composite structures.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and traditional structural calculations.
• Experience in areas such as structural sizing, fatigue or damage tolerance analysis.
• The ability to supervise, mentor and develop junior engineers.
