Job summary

Brandon James Limited is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design efforts on residential and commercial developments in the UK. Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Chartered status (MIStructE/MICE) or significant progress towards chartership.
• Strong practical experience designing steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry building structures.
• Proven experience in structural analysis, calculations and foundation design.
• Background delivering residential and commercial building projects.
• Knowledge of UK Building Regulations, British Standards and Eurocodes.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
• Excellent communication, technical problem-solving and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural engineering designs across a range of building projects from concept to completion.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors and clients to ensure design intent and buildability.
• Undertake structural analysis, calculations and detailed design across steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry structures.
• Design foundations and substructures for residential and commercial developments.
• Manage projects through design, technical delivery and construction stages.

The Role

The successful Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible for delivering structural engineering designs across a range of building projects, working closely with architects, contractors and clients from concept through to completion.

As a Senior Structural Engineer, responsibilities will include:

• Undertaking structural analysis, calculations and detailed design across steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry structures.

• Designing foundations and substructures for residential and commercial developments.

• Managing projects through design, technical delivery and construction stages.

• Producing and reviewing structural calculations, drawings and technical reports.

• Attending site visits, design meetings and providing technical support throughout construction.

• Liaising with clients, architects and multidisciplinary design teams.

• Mentoring junior engineers and supporting technical development.

The Candidate

The ideal Senior Structural Engineer will have:
