Job summary

Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust invites applications for a Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist working across the Community Neuro Rehabilitation Team (CNRT) and Adult Community SLT Service. The post is based in Shrewsbury, delivering SLT to adults with complex needs in clinics, homes and community settings.

You will join a multidisciplinary team, providing assessment, management and ongoing supervision.

Qualifications

• Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Postgraduate certificate in dysphagia (or equivalent).
• Eligible for RCs membership and NQP competencies.
• CPD in neurological communication and swallowing disorders.

Responsibilities

• Deliver speech and language therapy to adults with communication and swallowing difficulties.
• Caseload includes stroke, acquired brain injury, Parkinson's, MND, Dementia and other long-term conditions.
• Provide person-centred, goal-focused assessment and management.
• Assist in service development including quality improvements and audits.
• Support students on placement and deliver training.
