Job summary

Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust invites applications for an Assistant Practitioner to join our Community Speech and Language Therapy Team. You will work with Speech and Language Therapists to support adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders in community and outpatient settings.

Based at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford, the post will also cover sites across the East of the county, including care homes and patients' homes, with potential clinics via telehealth.

Qualifications

• Experience in community health settings is essential.
• Ability to work with Speech and Language Therapists in the field of acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
• Able to manage own caseload with supervision as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess and implement treatment programmes for delegated patients in the Community SLT department.
• Manage own caseload with access to supervision from senior staff.
• Work as a member of the Community SLT team delivering services in community and outpatient settings.
• Coordinate with patients, carers and other professionals and contribute to treatment planning.
