Job summary

The Childrens Trust School is seeking a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (Band 7) to lead specialised SLT services within the school. You will assess, plan and deliver evidence-based therapy for children with complex needs, work with the multidisciplinary team and families, and provide specialist guidance on AAC and tracheostomy-related communication issues.

You will lead service development, supervise junior staff, and contribute to governance, training, and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Autonomous practitioner with responsibility for assessment, treatment, and planning for an allocated caseload of children/young people.

Responsibilities

• Lead the provision of high quality, evidence based SLT for children in The Childrens Trust School in partnership with MDT and Education services.
• Provide assessment and management guidelines for AAC and assistive technology in school settings.
• Work with the MDT to support impact of tracheostomies on speaking and swallowing after assessment of laryngeal integrity and secretion management.
