Job summary

Cygnet Afon Las is recruiting a specialist Speech and Language Therapist to cover a neurocognitive, neuropsychiatric service. The role involves assessing complex cases, delivering SLT input within the hospital pathway and collaborating with an on-site multidisciplinary team.

HCPC registration and RCSLT membership are required; swallowing competency is essential, with training provided. Enhanced DBS and references are part of the eligibility process for roles within the service.

Qualifications

• Degree or postgraduate diploma in speech and language therapy.
• HCPC registration and RCSLT membership required.
• Swallowing competency essential (training offered).
• Enhanced DBS and reference checks required.

Responsibilities

• Assess speech, communication and language needs of a specialist caseload with complex needs.
• Assess and manage eating, drinking and swallowing needs independently.
• Deliver SLT input in line with the Cygnet SLT pathway for neuropsychiatric services.
• Support implementation of management approaches with colleagues across the service.
• Upskill the workforce as required.
• Work as part of the on-site multidisciplinary team.
• Take part in company-wide SLT projects and service development.
• Take part in quality improvement initiatives and research opportunities.
