Job summary

Cygnet Afon Las in Corwen, Denbighshire, is opening a new 15-bed neurocognitive service. They seek a Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist (Band 7 equivalent) to join a multidisciplinary team and manage a complex caseload with EDS and SCLN needs.

The post offers clinical supervision, CPD opportunities, and involvement in service development. The role is full-time and permanent, with a salary of £50,632 to £57,940 per year.

Qualifications

• Degree or postgraduate diploma in Speech and Language Therapy, HCPC registered and RCSLT member.
• Ability to independently assess and manage EDS needs (strongly desired).
• Experience in neurology or neurodegenerative conditions and high clinical SLT knowledge.
• Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support with person-centred planning.
• Strong teamwork and excellent communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language and communication needs (SCLN) and eating, drinking and swallowing (EDS) for a complex caseload.
• Deliver input in line with the SLT pathway for neuropsychiatric services.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary colleagues on-site to support implementation of management approaches and upskill staff.
• Participate in the wider SLT service and engage in CPD and service development initiatives.
