Job summary

Cygnet Afon Las is recruiting a specialist Speech and Language Therapist to cover a neurocognitive, neuropsychiatric service. The role involves assessing complex cases, delivering SLT input within the hospital pathway and collaborating with an on-site multidisciplinary team.

HCPC registration and RCSLT membership are required; swallowing competency is essential, with training provided. Enhanced DBS and references are part of the eligibility process for roles within the service.

Job description

A new specialist speech and language therapy post at Cygnet Afon Las, a 15-bed neurocognitive hospital opening in April 2027. The work covers assessing speech, communication, eating, drinking and swallowing needs, and delivering input under the company SLT pathway. The service supports men with complex neurological conditions and psychiatric sequelae, some detained under the Mental Health Act, within a company-wide SLT team. HCPC registration and RCSLT membership are required; swallowing competency is essential, though training is offered.
