Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Taunton is recruiting a Specialist/Highly Speech & Language Therapist to join a new 15-bed neuro-cognitive service for older adults with complex cognitive and neurological needs. You will assess SCLN and EDS, deliver care as part of an interdisciplinary team, and support workforce development with CPD.

Qualifications

• Registered Speech and Language Therapist with HCPC and RCSLT membership.
• Ability to independently assess and manage EDS needs.
• Experience with older adults, neurology or neurodegenerative conditions.
• Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and person-centred planning.
• Strong team player with excellent communication and time management.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage speech, communication and language needs (SCLN).
• Deliver input aligned with the SLT pathway for neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative services.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary on-site team and contribute to service development.
