Job summary

SMT GB is seeking an exceptional Specialist Engineer to become the technical authority at the Brownhills depot, supporting one of the world’s leading construction equipment brands. This senior role focuses on solving complex technical challenges, mentoring engineers and driving best practice to maximise machine uptime and first-time fix rates.

You will work closely with Field Service Engineers, Workshop Engineers and customers, providing expert diagnóstico, guidance and hands-on problem solving

Qualifications

Qualified in Mechanical, Electrical or Automotive engineering.
Experience maintaining, diagnosing heavy plant or construction equipment.
Strong fault-finding across hydraulic, electrical, electronic and engine systems.

Responsibilities

Lead escalation for complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults.
Assist engineers with advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting and repairs on-site or remotely.
Provide coaching and technical guidance across the service operation.
Collaborate with Volvo technical support teams to resolve issues.
Drive safety, quality and continuous improvement in service delivery.
