Compass Group UK & Ireland invites a passionate Sous Chef to join the 14forty team at the Birmingham Head Office. You will support the Head Chef, deliver high-quality dishes, and lead a brigade in a fast-paced environment.

You will help shape menus, ensure food safety, and elevate culinary standards across diverse service formats, including grab-and-go and plated meals. A proactive leader with culinary flair is sought.

Qualifications

• Senior Chef de Partie or Sous Chef with experience in quality-focused kitchens.
• Strong emphasis on food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to support Head Chef and lead by example during all service periods.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef in delivering flavourful, consistent, visually appealing dishes across service formats.
• Shape menus that celebrate quality ingredients and smart nutritional choices.
• Foster a positive, high-performing kitchen culture with championed culinary standards.
• Assist with ordering, stock control, and kitchen organisation for smooth operations.
• Maintain best-in-class food hygiene and safety, with considered presentation.
• Support training and mentoring of junior chefs within the brigade.
• Lead by example and elevate the standard of food preparation and service.
