Job Title: Senior Sous Chef - Be You, Be Wagamama (Immediate Hiring), Cambridge

Wagamama, with over 165 restaurants, celebrates individuality and non-conformity, emphasizing personality over perfection — we call it Be You, Be Wagamama. We are seeking a Senior Sous Chef to join us on our journey to nourish both body and soul.

Role Overview:

As a Senior Sous Chef, you will be an inspirational leader, fostering a positive environment for your team and guests. You will support continuous coaching and development of your team, drive restaurant performance, and deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create a caring, supportive environment that celebrates successes and nurtures talent, role-modeling a coaching culture.
  • Ensure an excellent guest experience by maintaining high standards in dish preparation and team skill development.
  • Maintain impeccable food, health, and safety standards; understand financial aspects including gross profit, stock control, and labor costs.
  • Build a coaching culture within your team, collaborating with the Head Chef on recruitment and ongoing development.
  • Be a proactive problem solver, making quick decisions and thinking on your feet.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Experience leading a kitchen team as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with a caring, considerate approach.
  • Proven ability to maintain high standards in food, health, safety, and financial performance.
  • Experience managing labor costs and adapting to changing demands.
  • Leadership qualities that inspire and engage teams, fostering respect and inclusion.
  • Ability to think proactively and make swift decisions.
