Job summary

Lockheed Martin Gloucester is seeking Senior Software Engineers to contribute to Defence, Cyber and Intelligence programmes. You’ll help build and secure software systems safeguarding digital infrastructure across the UK.

This senior role values strong engineering practice, ownership of complex work and a passion for learning. You’ll work with colleagues and customers to understand needs, turning them into well-engineered solutions and collaborating across the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering software in a professional engineering environment.
• Practical experience with Linux, Git and automated unit testing.
• The ability to work through technical trade-offs and explain your choices to a mix of stakeholders.
• A collaborative approach and a dedication to continuous learning and team improvement.
• Experience delivering complex software and taking responsibility for quality.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, debug and document software across its lifecycle.
• Investigate problems and improve reliability, security and maintainability.
• Improve software delivery through infrastructure as code, CI/CD and test automation.
• Contribute to technical decisions, reviews and collaborative problem-solving.
• Mentor junior staff on projects.
