Job summary

Lockheed Martin is hiring a junior Software Engineer in Gloucester to help design, develop and maintain secure software across Defence, Cyber and Intelligence programmes.

You will learn across technologies, work under experienced colleagues, and have the opportunity to grow your skills while contributing to reliable, scalable software solutions. A clear path to learning and development, with support for security clearance application and flexible working.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering software in a professional engineering environment.
• Experience using Linux, Git and automated unit testing.
• Ability to evaluate different approaches to a technical problem and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each.
• A collaborative approach and a dedication to continuous learning and team improvement.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the design, development, testing, debugging and documentation of software throughout its lifecycle.
• Investigating issues and contributing to improvements in the reliability, security and maintainability of our systems.
• Learning and applying modern software delivery practices, including infrastructure as code, CI/CD and test automation.
• Participating in technical discussions, code reviews and collaborative problem-solving with colleagues.
• Learning from and working closely with experienced team members to develop your technical and professional skills.
