Job summary

Cellular Origins is seeking a strong Senior Software Engineer with a passion for robotics to deliver reliable software for its cell therapy manufacturing platform. You will design, build, test and improve software, interfacing with mobile robots and factory control systems.

You’ll work within the robotics team alongside software and systems engineers to turn requirements into working solutions, mentor engineers, and ensure high-quality software across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering complex software across the development lifecycle.
• Strong Python programming proficiency.
• Experience designing and implementing backend services and integrating systems via APIs or messaging.
• Experience with distributed systems using message-oriented or event-based approaches.
• Good engineering habits: version control, automated testing, CI.
• Ability to mentor engineers and communicate technical ideas clearly.
• Genuine interest in robotics and willingness to work hands-on with hardware.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of design, architecture, implementation and debugging of software components across the robotics platform.
• Integrate software with robots, devices and equipment.
• Develop and run tests on hardware to verify behaviour and diagnose failures.
• Build quality through test-driven development, automated testing, CI, and code reviews.
• Mentor colleagues and share technical knowledge across the team.
• Collaborate across disciplines to resolve integration issues and deliver features at a sustainable pace.
• Maintain clear technical documentation and test evidence for development and regulatory needs.
